As a result of diggin’ the web in the past couple of decades, I used to collect all the photos of my favorites black music artists and labels.
Here is the Soul Funk photos gallery including thousands of live stages, everyday life and portraits shot. Many of them display informations about photos locations, artists names, stories and fun facts.
For example and as a huge fan, browsing The Temptations gallery would give you a very good idea of their lineup evolution: from Otis Williams & The Siberians in 1958 to The Reunion Tour lineup in 1982, through the great “Classic Five” lineup.
You’ll find releases of famous Soul and Funk artists like Al Green, Aretha Franklin, Curtis Mayfield, Gil Scott-Heron, James Brown, Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson, Prince, Stevie Wonder,… as well as lesser known black music artists.
