If like me you’re a huge fun of music sleeves (in particular black music indeed), I highly recommend you to get the “Funk & Soul Covers” by german publishing house Taschen.
Multilingual (English, French, German), this wonderful book collects more than 500 legendary Black music record cover!
Including cultural context, design analysis, and interviews with key industry figures, a must have !

Here is the lp’s and cd’s gallery covers of Soul, Funk, Blues and Jazz Albums, organized by alphabetical order or by musical genre (also including Soul-Jazz, Jazz-Funk, Disco-Funk, Vocal Jazz, Rhythm’N’Blues, Gospel, Blaxploitation, AfroBeat and AfroFunk).
Obviously this not an exhaustive list but more or less the covers of albums I’ve been listening to throughout my life.
Overwhelmingly all these 5000 covers come from albums recorded before the 80’s.
You’ll find releases of famous artists as well as little known black music artists.
